The Cannoneers came into the contest sporting an 11-3 overall record and a 5-0 mark in conference play.
SUNY Broome gave Jefferson a real test in the first quarter, holding a brief lead early and ultimately trailing just 13-9 after one. The Cannoneers used 24-11 and 23-7 second quarter and third quarter advantages to pull away. Jefferson led 37-20 at the break.
Alyvia Heath led the Hornets in scoring with 10 points, adding five rebounds. Nnyala Stark was next in points with nine, just missing a double-double as she pulled down 11 rebounds. Juliana Turner scored eight points off the bench and Natalie Andi had six points and five rebounds.
SUNY Broome dropped to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in conference with the loss.
The Hornets will be back in action on Sunday, February 1st hosting North Country CC.
