The women's basketball program begins its 2025-26 season this week.
The Hornets will open their regular season at home vs Corning CC at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12.
SUNY Broome has returned three players from the 2024-25 team and has added several talented newcomers. Multiple are highly touted in that they were recognized as "All-Stars" in their respective conferences or leagues or regions during their high school careers.
Zephora Brouillette, Juliana Turner, and Amiah Newman are the returners from last season. Brouillette averaged 6.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game last season, tallying five games with double-digit points and 11 games with double-digit rebounds. Turner averaged 5.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season and recorded double figures in scoring in four games. Newman could be primed for an increased role this season after she provided key minutes on multiple occasions down the stretch of last season.
After hosting Corning CC in a Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) contest to start the year, the Hornets will be on the road for four games in a row to close out the month of November. Two home contests in December vs Mohawk Valley CC and Herkimer College will bring a close to the Fall semester games.
SUNY Broome will then open play in the Spring semester with three home games and two road games in the month of January. Four of those five January matchups are against MSAC competitors.
The Hornets will have a busy February with seven contests currently scheduled during the month, including six MSAC games in a row. SUNY Broome is currently slated to close out its regular season on February 21 at Jefferson CC.
