The men's basketball team hosted nationally-ranked #11 North Country CC on February 1.
The Hornets contended with the Saints in a low-scoring first half, trailing 33-21 at the break. A strong start to the second half allowed SUNY Broome to trim the deficit to single digits on multiple occasions and move closer, but a North Country surge during the second part of the second half put the game out of reach.
The Hornets had balanced scoring on the contest with eight different players registering points. Dejon Williams led the charge with 13 points and 12 rebounds. He was the lone Hornet in double figures. Xavier Thomas-Davis just missed a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds. Braeden Davis made two three-pointers and scored eight points. Isaiah Sanders and Tyrell Davender each had seven in the loss.
SUNY Broome was held to 21-63 (33.3%) from the field, 5-22 (22.7%) on three-pointers, and 9-14 (64.3%) at the free throw line.
