An unfortunate opening half of the contest put the Hornets in a hole entering halftime, down 29-48. SUNY Broome played a much more even second half, putting up 39 points to Fulton-Montgomery's 40, but the Raiders' early advantage ultimately made the difference.
SUNY Broome was led in scoring by Dejon Williams with 16 points. He also had four assists and two rebounds. Ponce Williams followed with 14 points and added five assists and two rebounds. Wyeth Lamont was a third Hornet in double figures as he had 10 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Isaiah Sanders had seven points and two steals off the bench.
SUNY Broome shot just 24-64 (37.5%) from the field compared to 26-52 (50.0%) for Fulton-Montgomery. Additionally, the Raiders attempted 34 free throws and made 30 of them (88.2%) while SUNY Broome was 7-19 from the line (36.8%).
The Hornets dropped to 4-8 on the season with the loss.
