Men's Basketball Loses To #1 Mohawk Valley At Home

The first half was an evenly-played, exciting affair as the Hornets matched the energy of the undefeated Hawks and each team got out and ran in transition. Each team held slight leads on multiple occasions as the score remained within a few points for the majority of the half.
After Mohawk Valley took a 39-32 lead into halftime, the Hawks pulled away by outscoring SUNY Broome by 12 in the second half.
The scoring for the Hornets was relatively balanced. Isaiah Sanders had a team-high 14 points off the bench and added five assists and three rebounds. Christopher Zielewicz was second in scoring with 13 points on three three-pointers. Dejon Williams was a third Hornet in double figures with 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Three other Hornets scored at least six points in the contest, including Joshua Bernard who had six points and a team-high eight rebounds.
SUNY Broome dropped to 3-5 overall with the loss, but maintains a 2-0 record in conference play.
