The men's soccer team was defeated 4-1 by Tompkins Cortland CC in a Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) matchup on Wednesday.
The Hornets jumped out to a 1-0 lead just around midway through the first half when Charles Larrabee found the back of the net. Tompkins Cortland, however, scored two unanswered goals in the remainder of the first half to take a 2-1 lead at the break.
The Panthers continued their run of unanswered goals, adding two more in the second half to secure their 4-1 win.
Larrabee led the Hornets' offense in shots with five, two of which were on goal, including his score in the first half. Corey Cottrell added two shot attempts and Ben Pauline and Mario Moretin each added one.
Andriy Grave made his season debut in goal for the Hornets. He tallied seven saves, several of which were of high difficulty and full extension.
Now sitting at 1-7 on the season, SUNY Broome will look to get back in the win column vs North Country CC on Saturday at 3:00 pm at home.
