The men's soccer team dropped a 10-0 decision to then nationally-ranked #3 Finger Lakes CC on Saturday.
The Lakers started their offensive attack quickly, netting two goals within the first 14 minutes of play. Finger Lakes then added two more goals within the next 15 minutes to take a 4-0 lead after 29 minutes.
After four more goals in the following 13 minutes, the Lakers entered halftime with an 8-0 lead.
Finger Lakes played as the #3 ranked team in NJCAA Division 3 men's soccer on Saturday, and the 10-0 win subsequently moved the Lakers up to #2 overall in the latest poll.
Charles Larrabee registered SUNY Broome's only shot in the contest on a sequence in the first half where he briefly broke free from a defender and outsprinted the Finger Lakes defensive coverage before taking an attempt as a Laker closed in on him. The Finger Lakes goalkeeper, however, made a routine save on the play.
Hornets' keeper Elliot Weinreich made eight saves in goal in the loss.
The Hornets will look to rebound when they host another nationally-ranked team in #6 Mohawk Valley CC on Wednesday.
