Dantuono Lands On All-Region; Named Men's Field Athlete Of The Meet
When NJCAA Region 3 announced the men's track & field All-Region Team and individual award winners following the culmination of the Region 3 Championship, SUNY Broome men's track & field student-athlete Joseph Dantuono was represented well.
When NJCAA Region 3 announced the men's track & field All-Region Team and individual award winners following the culmination of the Region 3 Championship, SUNY Broome men's track & field student-athlete Joseph Dantuono was represented well.
Dantuono was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Meet for the Region 3 Championship meet, as he took 1st place in both the shot put and the discus at the meet.
In the shot put, Dantuono threw a distance of 12.19 meters. In the discus, he threw a distance of 36.29 meters which set a personal record at the time. Dantuono would later better that mark at the NJCAA National Championship meet when he threw a distance of 36.64 meters in the discus and set a new personal record and school record on his way to reaching All-American status in the event.
On top of the individual Field Athlete of the Meet award, Dantuono was also recognized on the Region 3 Men's Track & Field All-Region Team as a result of being the Regional Champion in the shot put and discus.
