King Leads Women At Hamilton College Invitational
Aisling King led the women's track & field team at the Hamilton College Invitational on April 11 by taking 3rd place in the shot put and 8th place in the discus.
Aisling King led the women's track & field team at the Hamilton College Invitational on April 11 by taking 3rd place in the shot put and 8th place in the discus.
King threw a distance of 10.55 meters in the shot put and set a personal record with a distance of 24.90 meters in the discus.
The women had a very successful throwing day all around, as Hannah Sanford and Gabriella Vazquez also put together noteworthy throwing performances.
Sanford got 9th place in the discus event with a distance of 24.89 meters and took 10th place in the javelin by throwing a personal-best 19.35 meters. She also threw 7.01 meters in the shot put.
Vazquez reached 22.73 meters in the discus and took home 6th place in the javelin with a personal-best 21.41 meters.
Also for the Hornets, Fatima Njie made her season debut with a time of 33.05 in the 200 meter dash.
Lastly, Sage Tifft ran a 3:01.91 in the 800 meter run, which trimmed nearly 17 seconds off her time in the event from last weekend.
On the day, the team tallied a combined five top-10 finishes.
Looking ahead, the Hornets will be at SUNY Cortland on Friday and Saturday for the SUNY Cortland Classic. Events are scheduled to commence at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
