Soccer Wins At Home
After losing their first match of the season the Hornets have not lost since, today's victim was Ocean County CC, losing 3-2 to the host team.
After losing their first match of the season the Hornets have not lost since, today's victim was Ocean County CC, losing 3-2 to the host team. Goals by Jordan McGinnis (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell), Mackensie Gravelin (Sidney, NY/Sidney) and Allison O'Shea (Marathon, NY/Marathon) accounted for the 3-2 final margin. McGinnis scored at the 3:17 mark and Gravelin scored in the 29th minute to give the Hornets (4-1-1) a 2-1 halftime lead over the Vikings (1-1).
Both teams battled in the second half, with each team scoring a goal. O'Shea hit the back of the net for the game winner at 59:22. Alexis Novotny and Lexi Urban picked up the goals for Ocean County.
Next up is a road match against MSAC opponent Cayuga CC in Auburn, NY next Wednesday at 2:00 P.M.
