Zavien Rouhana made his cross country National Championship debut on a snowy Saturday in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Rouhana previously competed in the National Championships for track & field last Spring in which he placed 10th overall in the men's 10K.
The 2025 NJCAA National Championships for men's and women's cross country took place on Saturday, November 8 at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa as the event was hosted by nearby Iowa Central Community College.
Rouhana raced in a field of 100+ runners for the Division 3 men's 8K. He placed 44th overall, placing within the top half of the field. He was also the fourth runner among NJCAA Region 3 participants to finish the race, which furthered his season-long standing as a top runner within the region.
Despite the cold, snowy, and windy conditions, Rouhana completed the 8K race in a time of 30:39.6. Given the circumstances, Rouhana ran a great race in his first National Championship for cross country. He put this performance together despite running through a nagging foot injury and having limited preparation leading up to the race due to the injury.
