Women's Basketball Team Falls To Fulton-Montgomery
The women's basketball team lost to the NJCAA Division III seventh ranked team in the country 68-42 on Tuesday night in the Baldwin Gymnasium.
Fulton-Montgomery CC jumped out to an early lead and never trailed Tuesday night as the Raiders defeated host SUNY Broome 68-42 in Region III basketball game.
Kelcie Marshall (Endicott/Union-Endicot)t led the Hornets in scoring with 14 points while teammate Emily McElwain (Harpursville/Harpursville) chipped in with 8 points. Jenn Celiberti (Newark Valley/Newark Valley) had 8 rebounds, and Randi Conway (Bainbridge/Bainbridge-Guilford) and Karen Rwamakuba (Binghamton/Seton Catholic) pulled down 7 boards each.
The Hornets trailed 39-11 at the half but managed to outscore the Raiders in the second half 31-29. The loss dropped Broome to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in Region III while Fulton-Montgomery CC improved to 9-1 overall.
Up next for the Hornets is another home game this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. against Northampton CC out of bethlehem, PA.
