25 Student-Athletes Recognized As Scholar Athletes At Student Engagement Recognition Ceremony
At the Student Engagement Recognition Ceremony on May 13, 25 SUNY Broome student-athletes were recognized as "Scholar Athletes," for maintaining a GPA of 3.50 or higher while playing a sport throughout the academic year.
At the Student Engagement Recognition Ceremony on May 13, 25 SUNY Broome student-athletes were recognized as "Scholar Athletes," for maintaining a GPA of 3.50 or higher while playing a sport throughout the academic year.
Pictured above, the 25 student-athletes highlighted for this achievement included: Carmelo Alessandro, Natalie Andi, Amariah Argro, Alexander "Sasha" Asinovsky, Maggie Burlison, Kaiden Cannistra, Braeden Davis, Darlyn De Los Angeles, Grace Deyo, Adrianna Finta, Luke Grassi, Gracie Gregory, Madeline Hyzer, Gregory Inserillo, Aisling King, Ethan Matthews, Jalyn McCarthy, Riley McNamara, Santino Michitti, Lola Montemagno, Pharvensky Pamphil, Jacob Quail, Kendra Terrell, Ponce Williams, and Christopher Zielewicz.
Several other student-athletes were honored at the ceremony by either the Athletic Department or other departments on campus for various achievements such as being outstanding student leaders, making a positive impact on their campus community or academic program, or persevering through challenges and finding success, for example. Those additional student-athletes included: Muhammad "Shahmir" Abbas, Ya'Siin Bacchas, Zephora Brouillette, Bryson Castro, Nevan Doubleday, Evan Persbacker, Zavien Rouhana, and Demetrius Wilson Jr.
Notably, some student-athletes were even recognized with multiple honors at the event, receiving the "Scholar Athlete" nod from the Athletic Department and also earning awards for achievement and excellence in other categories.
