The Hornets' hot shooting led to their win Friday night against Tompkins Cortland, 89-82.  Early 3-pointers by Reginald Vaughan, Tron Smith, Jr. and Lucas Iacobucci helped Broome jump out to a 10 point lead, 35-25 with 7 minutes to play in the half. The Panthers would not go away, as they clawed back to take a 1 point lead with under a minute left. The Hornets would execute on their next possession to regain the lead going into the break, 42-41. Vaughan finished the half with 14 points on 5-6 shooting, including 4-5 three pointers.

The second half was back and forth as both teams exchanged leads early on. It wasn't until late in the half, when Hornets' forward Rasmus Kristensen nailed back to back 3 pointers from the same spot in the left corner.  The second 3-ball would give the Hornets a 4 point lead with 9 minutes left, that they never surrendered. The game was closed out by a 15-18 performance of free throw shooting in second half for Broome.

Vaughan would only miss three shots in the game, going 9-11 overall, including five 3s, and 5-6 from the line to finish with a game high, and collegiate high 28 points on the night.  Smith continued to contribute in all areas as he finished with 16 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Iacobucci also helped fill it up with 14 points, 8 boards and 4 assists. Rahiem Grant would add in 15 points of his own, and Kristensen finished with 9 points, on 3 three pointers, all big shots in the 2nd half.
