Men's basketball lost in the semifinals of the Mid-State Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday night to Onondaga CC 93-76 in Syracuse. The Hornets came out strong, jumping out to an 11-6 lead in the first five minutes, helped by two early 3-pointers by Brady Harrington. The Lazers would answer with a 21-6 run of their own to take a 10 point lead at the eleven minute mark. Broome scored the next 7 points to come within 3, 27-24. From that point on the Lazers would catch fire, and they outscored Broome 30-17 to close out the half 57-41. Onondaga shooters would connect on 7 out of 8 three point attempts in the first half. The visiting Hornets would fight hard in the second half but the closest that Broome would get was 12 points, as they couldn't get over the first half deficit.
Hornets scoring was led by Raheim Grant, he finished with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Harrington put in 19 points with 4 three pointers, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Matt Bowman added 5 rebounds and a game high 4 assists, Adolphus Butts scored 18 points to go along with 9 boards and 2 assists, and Anthony McNeil, who was recognized prior to the game as being selected to the MSAC All-Conference Team, contributed 17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.
